“You won’t find anyone better than Laurie.”
— Dick C.
We found Laurie at a time when we were completely frustrated with the school district and lack of progress in getting our daughter some much needed help. She is a special needs student who was being placed in mainstream classes that clearly were causing her more frustration and embarrassment with her struggles to learn. Laurie came to our daughter’s rescue, and within a short time, our daughter was placed into a special needs co-op that serves several school districts. This change literally changed our daughter’s life. She was a high school sophomore at the time, and since changing schools she has thrived both in school and in her recreational activities, including several gold medal awards at the Special Olympics She is currently a happy 22 year old. There isn’t enough space here to also write about the fantastic advocacy she provided and continues to provide our next two children. If you’re looking for someone who knows the laws and truly advocates for your child, you won’t find anyone better than Laurie.
“We could not have done it without her!”
— Beth & Rodney W.
We were put in a circumstance where the school “eased” our child out of his IEP. The verbiage they used was so slippery that we didn’t even realize that it happened. Laurie was referred to us and she saved the day! She reviews the reports from the school and attends the IEP meetings. As soon as we had Laurie on our side, we had the representative from the School District at our meeting and our IEP was restored! We could not have done it without her! Laurie makes sense of all the tests, forms, and goals, and works with the Special Education team to achieve what is best for your child. Laurie helps give you the peace you need to know that your child is thriving in the education system.
“Laurie packs so much value into her services.”
— Melissa K.
Laurie is an excellent advocate, in large because she is a fantastic collaborator. She brought our child’s school service team together while also making sure they provided necessary services on behalf of our child. She is easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable in special education law. We’ve always found her pricing to be reasonable and affordable. Laurie packs so much value into her services that you get much more than what you pay for. The cost for a special education lawyer is much higher and more contentious with the service team. We sought out a special education advocate instead, and I can’t recommend Laurie enough!
“She challenged the school team to focus on the real needs of our child.”
— Maret K.
We were previously represented by an educational advocate that didn’t yield results and came at a high cost. Laurie jumped onboard and accessed our long history of vague, non-specific IEPs that weren’t helping my child make any progress where the same issues were never resolved. She challenged the school team to focus on the real needs of our child and helped create appropriate goals and accommodations. In addition, she helped us obtain an IEP for my other child when the school only offered a 504. Laurie has helped us get meaningful results that produced measurable progress and success for our kids.
“I couldn’t imagine attending a meeting for my child without Laurie.”
— Amanda F.
We have used Laurie’s services for a few years now. IEP meetings can be intimidating and confusing for parents. Even as an elementary educator myself, I couldn’t imagine attending a meeting for my child without Laurie. She asked all the right questions and advocated in the best and highest interest of our child even when the district was hesitant to provide services. We highly recommend having Laurie on your team.
“Laurie is thorough and engaged; we could not have navigated all of this without her and are grateful to have her on our team!”
— Justin H.
“She is extremely well-informed.”
— Molly C.
“Laurie knows how to ask for the resources you need for your child. She is extremely well-informed and did a great job helping us get the services our daughter needed to be successful. Our daughter is in a better place because of the advice and advocacy we received from her.”
“She is dedicated and prepared and puts the time in to review our child’s entire IEP, will point out areas in question or where further clarification is required for everyone involved to be on the same page.”
— Erika H.
“She is right there beside me saying what I cannot.”
— Lela C.
I was told by another parent that she never gives up—and they were correct! Laurie is educated and fierce. When I am at a loss, she is right there beside me saying what I cannot. She has changed not only my son’s education but his whole quality of life. She seeks out the inequalities and brings them to light. I am always nervous at these meetings, but when Laurie shows up I feel empowered!
“I recommend to EVERY parent with special needs children”
— Cynthia Mary
I will never deal with my children’s school district without Laurie by my side. She has done so much more than I could ever put into words. I recommend to EVERY parent with special needs children, no matter how small the deficit, hire Laurie.
“Our children are catching up leaps and bounds.”
— Andrea M.
After a year with our IEP, our children are now catching up leaps and bounds. We would not be here today without Laurie’s help getting this in place. For two years we had been denied services that were continually fought for our ASD daughter and ADHD son. She worked with us to get an IEP approved, the IEP in place, and even checked up with us afterwards. I can not say thank you enough.
“She is a true advocate who has been on both sides of the profession.”
— Julie A.
Laurie has been a true blessing to us. We have a daughter that has had a tough road in her life journey. We have an IEP for our daughter with a local school district and things went wrong in the implementation and we needed help. Laurie was recommended to us and she has been at our side all the way. She is a true advocate who has been on both sides of the profession. Thank you Laurie for your love of our daughter and family.
