Executive Function Coaching

“How can I help my child improve their executive functioning skills?”

As you may already know, executive function is a set of skills that allow people to plan, focus, remember, and manage multiple tasks. When these skills are lacking, it’s difficult to set goals, stay organized and on-task, solve problems, make decisions, and maintain good habits. Because some parents, teachers, and even paraprofessionals are not equipped to effectively teach these skills, the relationship between child and authority often suffers, in addition to the child’s abilities.

A number of special learning needs can contribute to poor executive function skills, or sometimes the child simply hasn’t developed the skill, or a diagnosed disability may be preventing the habit from forming. By working on these skills with an Executive Functioning Coach, children can make significant improvements in their development and habits.
